the road to mitla

The road to the pre-columbian ruins of Mitla in Oaxaca, is full of incredible things to experience and see. Weavers and mezcal distilleries are two of my favorite things and lucky me, we found this man weaving in a distillery, my kind of place. He was weaving what looked like a table runner, about 5 – 6 feet in length and about 2. 5 feet wide. He was working so quickly on the beautiful antique machine, I thought he might chop his fingers off while he was speaking with us and working at the same time; it takes him only 30 min to complete a piece.
